OMSI came to visit us again yesterday! This time, they brought SNAKES!!! We learned all about different types of snakes, what they eat and why we shouldn't be scared of them. Here are some pictures!

Here comes December!!!

December is here!!

It was great seeing you all at conferences. I am so proud of all the kids progress. We have some fun things coming up for the next couple weeks, but we also have some work to do. Keep up with the homework and reading.

Here's What's coming up:

• Thursday is "Sport Day"- Kids can dress in their favorite sport themed clothing. Sport themed hats are okay too!
• Thursday at 9:00 a.m. we have an OMSI assembly in the Music room. Please have your students on time to school so they don't miss it!
• Friday is "Make it and Take it" night: 5:30-7:30- purchase tickets from the office ahead of time or purchase that night. I hope to see you all there!

Thank you to those families who have sent $2.50 for our holiday project! It is very much appreciated! Please send the money by Monday. Thanks!!

We had a great and busy week in B5. OMSI came to visit on Thursday. We learned all about the human body and the 6 main body systems. We got to do a lot of hands on learning too (pictures to come soon). Weddle was super lucky to get a grant to pay for some great OMSI presentations. Each classroom gets to go to three this school year. Our next one will be the first week of December.

I'm very excited to meet with all of you for parent/teacher conferences coming up very soon! At the conference, I will be giving you your child's report card and we will go over it together. We will also discuss our goals for the year and look through the "Grade-Level Expectations" packet. If, for some reason, you are unable to make you schedules conference appointment at the last minute, please try to call the school (503-399-3604) and let me know. I will work to find a time to meet with everyone! Have a great weekend!

Welcome to B5's Classroom Blog!!

Welcome, welcome, welcome!!
I have wanted to start a blog for my second grade class for a long time, so here it is! I will try to update often and include important information as well as upcoming events.



Here are some important upcoming events:

• No School Wednesday- Veteran's Day! We will be doing a project and would love to give the finished product to local veterans. If you have a veteran in your family or circle of friends, let me know!!

• Friday is Pajama Day! Please no spaghetti straps or other inappropriate clothing. Slippers are okay, but be sure to send regular shoes too for recess/P.E.
  
  
• Parent-teacher conferences are coming up in a few weeks. Please look for your confirmation of date/time coming home in the Monday folder.

Other notes:


*We could really use some AA batteries in our classroom. I had 6 personal CD players donated to B5 over the summer for the kids to listen to books on CD. The problem is, we go through batteries very quickly. If you could donate one package, it would be very much appreciated!!
